“Ten dollars and eight-three cents! These filters only cost forty cents when I started driving in 1959! You people are crooks.” But, of course, in 1959 he probably couldn’t afford the 40¢.

All too often, people like that assume that everyone else behaves the same way they do. They just don’t realize it.

Years ago I worked in a toy department. A customer came in complaining about a doll that wasn’t talking. He said take it and “stick it up your a- -!” I told him “I’m sorry sir, noroom the guy before you told me to stick a train set up there.” He looked at me and started laughing.

Rod should have come over to deal with this; it’s not fair to his clerks.

My grandmother worked retail at Hess’s- it was a massive department store with a cafe inside- back in the day. She always said that everyone should have to work retail for six months of their lives; it would make them empathize with retail workers and cut down on this kind of scene, as well as other behaviors that those who have worked retail would never do to someone still in that field.

I worked retail after college, and I add that everyone should work retail for six months- part of it over the Christmas season!

Why did he make an old man that bad? I am 78 and would never treat someone that way. This is a disgusting way of displaying old people!

I worked in a computer store where an older gentleman came in one day and demanded his money back because he had bought the computer game “ deer hunter” but he said his copy was faulty because there were no deer in it. Our tech loud up the game and found three deer within minutes! We smiled and choked on our laugh and just gave him his money back and told him he was just not a good hunter. But we had his great story to tell.

The main reason when ever possible I always worked wholesale, and even that wasn’t safe sometimes.
