Lettuce is the only vegetable I’ve not seen canned or frozen.
This leads to my side peeve. To keep lettuce fresh for as long as possible, it’s best to refrigerate it. For this reason restaurants refrigerate their salads. Refrigeration attenuates the taste of other things in the salad. For this reason, I let my salads sit for about an hour when I make them at home. That’s not practical at a restaurant.
So maybe the toaster idea isn’t so far off after all.
I’ve been working on a “food microprocessor” for years. The idea is to take the food, chop it into bits, and process the bits digitally. “Reverse engineer” a recipe in seconds. Of course, there are some minor technical problems. :)
We always make extra pancakes. Those can be toasted and eaten later either in the normal way (e.g. syrup, fork, etc.) or spread with jelly, peanut butter, etc. and eaten like a piece of toast.

You’re supposed to toast the croutons before putting them in the salad.

You couldn’t hurt kale by toasting it… then tossing it out.

Try to leave Rocky Blier in OFF side show to keep him out of my Paw Patrol sectionals. Roasted kale or clipped hedge funds?
