Here’s Snoopy, the world-famous writer, proving once more his command of the English language. Well, why not? [He’s] got the time. [He’s] got the talent. [He’s] got a typewriter. [He’s] got the plot!

You know you are in a desperate situation when you have to ask a dog for doing (and NOT eating) your homework…

She might have better luck hitting up good old Chuck for a pro bono essay. Of course Chuck would only be good for a gentleman’s C- while Snoopy would probably nail down an A but P Patty will have to negotiate a rate per word with Snoopy.

I do believe in the era of manual typewriters that this where the term “gumming up the works” comes from. Need payment to lubricate those typewriter slugs.

I’m guessing she’d be the type to pay artists through exposure.

Why not have your assistant type it, Snoopy?

Back in college in the middle of the prior century, most of my friends were dating secretaries (as administrative assistants were called then) so they could get their papers typed.

I was dating a nurse (still dating her). However, since I was taking a course in biomedical electronics, she did help me with the anatomy I needed for the course. The prof was nice in that he let her “sit in” on some of the classes.

It’s hard to type fast on a typewriter since there is no backspace.

My husband had a co-worker who was in the middle of a bitter child custody dispute. The man had a good heart but not very educated. His lawyer told him to note everything his ex-wife did for records. He would give his hand-written notes to my husband, who brought them home to me (I’m an administrative assistant and was once an advertising proofreader). I was home with our newborn at the time, so I had the time. I would type them out & make them look professional. The man’s girlfriend worked at Dunkin Donuts, and they would pay me with white chocolate raspberry scones, which were my favorites. I was paid 2 scones per letter: one upon delivery of notes, one upon completion.

I say she offers him payment in dog treats, but I’m pretty sure she still thinks he’s a kid. If she does, then that term paper is doomed anyway.

Mrs. Baker constantly has me edit her writing, but, so far, all of my invoices to her have gone unpaid. The interest and late fees are really starting to add up.

As the saying goes, no free lunches here either. It takes a lot to handle the typewriter or the keyboards of laptop.

1974 and yet this sounds too much like some of the things I used to see on Yahoo Answers. I didn’t have a problem answering questions when it seemed clear the person had actually put work in and they were either stumped or checking their answers (and then I’d either tell them they were right/wrong or direct them to where they could find the answer), but too often they were after folks to do their homework for them. The worst ones were the ones who literally said to do it for them.
