The vaccine is nearly impossible to get in Indiana and there is no vaccine for minors.

Cabin fever is a great way to let your “little insanities” come to surface. Living in northern Maine and having long Winters where you don’t get to go out much, you really need things to entertain yourself.

Take up a hobby that involves physical activity. Like DRAWING or playing the kazoo. You goat! >;-)

We are a lonely couple, good thing we get along together so well as we haven’t had a face-to-face conversation with another human being since early October. Asking the cashier to repeat herself through the thick Plexiglas doesn’t count as human contact.

It was a real condition. People went crazy in winter cooped up near a fire in a small room; there were many reports of bodies found outside cabins when spring rolled around

As I mentioned earlier, my wife and I have done our part to increase herd immunity. We both the plague in the second week of December, according to the test that we both took. No idea how we caught it. Mild symptoms that lasted two days. We count ourselves as blessed.

While cabin fever is taking hold I’m still motivated to hang in there. I’m in a phase 2 group (65+) which the state has indicated that my turn will be near the end of March. Although I might have 2 co-morbid conditions that would qualify me for the end of February or the beginning of March. My wife won’t qualify until April and with two kids (college and middle school) it’s really important to me that one of us make it through this.

But this time line may not hold. Seems that the tRump administration lied about having a reserve of the vaccine to assure that second doses will be available when needed.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/15/politics/coronavirus-vaccine-reserve-dose/index.html

Then again maybe there is still hope.

Hang in there, folks. Maybe a nice cold beer will help lower my cabin fever. Or maybe not, but it couldn’t hurt.

I have to admit – cabin fever has not been a problem with me.

Revitalize an old hobby, pick up something new, read an old book that has sat on the shelf for years, get out and go for a walk if you can. Do something new every day.

I like this comic immensely. But I avoid rabbit hole conspiracy believing whack jobs, MAGA zealots, and the plain ol’ pig ignorant at all costs — which this comment section is clearly infested with.

I haven’t been to an indoor restaurant or bar since March, and now its too cold to do that outdoors either. Its driving me nuts. No family gatherings. No travel.

I don’t expect to qualify for a shot before April. After I have both, and a positive antibody test, I will relax some of my personal rules. Not before. Hope I’m still sane.

I am one of the few who is fine since I haven’t had to change much. Been alone and I keep myself very busy. Writing for one can take energy.

Other than the reason – I like being stuck in the house.

In normal times husband insists on going out every day – we have lunch at Wendys – same lunch every day (if it is a day I have go to out for work or my embroidery meeting when he walks to the counter they make the lunch for both of us before he orders just for him) – though on Sundays we would go to a different to Walmart and our Saturday night dinners out are at a third one. After lunch we go to a Walmart (we have a plethora of them within a 20 minute or less drive) – on some occasions we go to Micro Center instead or in addition to WM. Real excitement is a trip to Home Depot or Lowes and which location should we go to. We shop for dinner daily or for for 2 days dinner (unless snow is coming and we need food for more than just today/tomorrow).

I enjoy cooking. I am having a chance to catch up on housework not done in years. No time wasted if we have to go into a store – we get what we need and leave. Food shopping once a month or month and a half. Pick up prescriptions once every 3 months – with an extra trip for a box of insulin pens as we don’t want more than one box in house in case we lose electricity. I am actually going to miss some of this when we can go out again and go back to how it was, but I will like it when our mail finally gets straightened out and I get to go out one or two days without him – being together almost 24/365 is better than actually being together 24/365 – can’t buy anything without his knowing – luckily I found some wire in the house to use to make armature to make him a Christmas gift of small bears of us as I knew he had to get something for Christmas and when my journal filled up it was a problem buying a new blank one without him knowing – he knows I “wanted THIS book” but does not know why.

Next secret project is the garden flag for him for when we can again travel in our RV.
