Coming from some biz trip in the ‘60s I was on a nearly empty plane. “Can I take three seats and lay down?” I asked. Lovely flight attendant "Yes, I’ll bring you some extra pillows." Those days are gone….
Talk about knees hitting the seat in front of you. I flew in the Philippines on a local flight that the seats were so close together that my knees wouldn’t fix behind the seat in front of me. I had to sit the two hour flight with my knees between the seat in front of me. My wife enjoyed it, she’s 4’10" lol.
It is kind of funny how different the experiences can be. For example I flew on All Nippon Airways – older plane a 747 still I think, seats were definitely designed for a Japanese butt and not mine, but the service was nice, and the flight attendants were quite responsive. I flew Singapore Air and it was much more comfortable and more relaxed even on the same design of plane. I flew United on the same 747 and it was much more … cattle carish.
cramped seating like that can cause severe health risks, up to fatal blood clots. A single passenger having a stroke would instigate a lawsuit that would undermine whatever savings they gained from ordering substandard furniture.
Also HE isn’t paying them anything, since this is a business trip it’s all on his company’s dime. It makes sense that his company went with the cheapest possible option, but the fact that they rescheduled his flight to the night before without notice, which could have caused him to miss a valuable meeting that could cost the company millions, would ensure they never use them again and the would use their corporate influence to ensure their reputation is destroyed, this airline is doomed.
Or maybe not, after all this company hired an efficiency consultant who charged them over 10,000 dollars to save them barely 1000 per year, if anything the company he works for is doomed.

I don’t think my Delta flight attendant sister-in-law would do that to some poor sap.

Probably a lot safer if there is a crash.

Um, shouldn’t his knees be touching the seat in front of him?
Either that or he’s a hobbit.

Well, are there parts of the engine falling off? If not, consider yourself lucky.

Being you can’t see the person next to him, I guess they’re all like that, so he’s not being singled out!

Now you get to stand in line, take off your shoes, wear a mask, and the engine catches fire and falls apart. Much better!
