I’m with her on this one. It means nothing in my life. I wouldn’t have known that the Superbowl is on this next weekend if someone hadn’t said it where I could hear them yesterday.
Pro or college sports can be fun if the local team is winning and the team keeps the same key players season after season so you can follow them, but the pros keep changing teams so the player you like is now on the opposing team. It takes all the fun out of it. Even the college players often opt for the pro draft after their junior year.
It now means nothing in my life. The anthem kneelers and BLM supporters can keep being political or they can do what they’re paid to do – entertain. Not wasting my time/money for the former.
I figure if people were watching for the love of sport, the entire game would be re-shown periodically. The only reason to need to know the outcome is if you are gambling. For me, life’s a big enough gamble.

Before the season starts, even.

Professional sports is a bunch of rich men getting richer by exploiting people’s need to worship something. (thus, the word “fan” [fanatic])

Not a sports lover at all. Maybe I’ll watch a little of the Olympics. That’s as far as it goes for me.

No football in my life. Not now, not ever. Ick. CTE in 99% of players, totally avoidable.

I won’t be tuning in to the Super Bowl, either. Those who want to watch are free to borrow the signals that my TV won’t be using. Lol.
