Pfft. Delayed gratification is one of those lies that adults tell, like âif you drink coffee, itâll stunt your growthâ or âDoing your homework builds character.â
This is why I donât play games like thatâI donât have the patience for grinding.
Whatever happened to the days when you could just jump into a game and play it through to completion with the only thing you needed was skill and the personal knowledge of how to work the controls?
I appreciate grinding. Iâm not the strongest gamer in the world, and any game that lets you level up so that you can earn the ability to win is great. It sure beats quitting the game. And letâs not mention âpay to winâ games. You can cram your 1500 gems for $99 up yourâŠ
I do like how they do leveling up in the Suikoden games were you will quickly get to the recommend level it just a few battles even if it with a character at level 5 the dungeon is level 60 and it has a soft cap where it takes 200 battles to level up.

I do the same with all RPGs, starting with Super Mario RPG. Then came Mario & Luigi where you can dodge and counter attacks. Nintendo is brilliant!

Iâd a lot rather ride a unicorn than play a video game any day.

Reminds me of the days I was playing Diablo and got tired of the grind. Eventually just found some cheats, became God-like and had a lot more fun.

âDelayed gratificationâ is one thing, but this sounds a lot more like just turning play into a chore.
