Iâm with you, Fred. They definitely look .different dressed in official football togs, but theyâre still the twins, and they still want to play with you. Go for it, and you guys have a great game!
Has an American taken over writing Fred â no self-respecting Brit will ever call what the twins are doing football. Soccer is football to the British (and everyone else except the Americans)
The Brit friends, including my daughterâs English soccer coach say they never use Soccer while in England even though it started as Association Football. Football is a term that is clearly understood there. They use the term Soccer (the derivative of Association Football) here in the US so as to not confuse the locals.
JonladY2K, et alâŠSoccer, what you call football, is nothing more than a bunch of humans running about a grassy lot in their underwear. It hardly ranks among the top ten of true sport although devotees thereof with their scarves, ties and floppy caps seem to think it the best way to idle away an afternoon, beer in hand. Basketball, follows a close second with its ridiculously tall men and women in their ridiculously short costumes, tossing a round ball about on a polished wood floor. Back in the 1950s, when I was a teenager, American football was referred to as âwar on a Sunday afternoon."

You would be a great running back Fred, you have a low center of gravity, powerful legs and you can always find a hole! Hut, hut, hike Fred!

I alway choose soccer over âfootballâ. U.S. football; a moment of play then tedious minutes of judication

Until quite recently the British also called it soccer.
