Anyone who lived on the seacoast, particularly from the time of ships with masts, knew the world was round, because they could watch the ship sink below the horizon as it sailed away (or rise above it sailing landward). In fact, back around 200 BC, Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the earth with surprising accuracy.
Our family had that question of how far out you can see when we were camping on the beach. I didn’t think to draw a diagram of the earth in the sand and try to figure out how far you could see with your eye line six feet above the surface.
Michael said that they had to do reruns because of the storms. Don’t forget he lives outside of Austin. He lost power. I follow him on IG and he looked rough.

My favorite t-shirt: “Casper, WY, not the end of the world, but you can see it from there.”

I love Louis Black’s routine: “I looked and saw a Starbucks and then I turned around AND SAW A STARBUCKS!!”

That sounds like it should be the name of a book … “Starbucks at the end of the World”.
