1 Former maitre d, down on his luck, still remembers to tip good service. (Umbrella Guy is either practicing to play Santa or maybe the Stork.)
2 Bozo attempting to use technology that falls short of what he wants it to do. (Umbrella Guy lurks outside to eavesdrop on the conversation but doesn’t hear a word.)
3 Bozo greets a rare unclassy dame. (It is never classy to eat somebody else’s lit cigar.) Umbrella Guy takes off to escape the ensuing hilarity.
And once again, even though it goes without saying, a big thumbs up for Foxo’s marvellous masterpiece the wordless wonder called Bozo!
Great comics expressed solely with artwork alone, and no words uttered by any character. Bozo is a rare gem, a golden silence that speaks a thousand words.
“Warm Lips” reminds me of when I was around 5 or 6 years old. Our neighbor used to smoke cigarettes’ one after the other. She always used her hands to talk, usually with a cigarette in her hand…..which she would accidentally burn me as I was playing, or whatever…..naturally she always told me to be careful. She was a sweet lady, but dangerous with her smokes.
1) Helpful tip: A man down on his luck asks Bozo for some food. Bozo gives him a meal and eats on the porch. The fellow leaves a 2 bit tip!
2) For all of our Hellos: Bozo answers the phone. The voice says “hello” and he says “goodbye” and then hangs it up‽ Rule of Funny & Imp of the Perverse together.
3) Unexpected Ashtray: Bozo welcomes his mother (?) and gives her a kiss on the mouth. He still has his lit cigar in his mouth!

1 – Free meals so good, even the hoboes pay a little something after savoring one.

1ˢᵗ This almost speaks for itself. You do good, you get good.
2ⁿᵈ A mime can communicate using a telephone, but only to the audience.
3ʳᵈ She’s wearing glasses but she still can’t see very well. Why kiss a cigar?
