Dan, You’re just like the real estate agents with their high school photos in their ads. In real life they look like recent parolees after hard time, or aged hard core hookers. But keep that pen moving and the brain churning out those off-the-wall thoughts. We won’t turn you in.

Fountain pens? I didn’t know those were still around. Remember the movie ‘Valley of the Dolls": the lawyer asks for a pen and says it’s gotta be a fountain pen, not one of those lousy ballpoints.

Growing up, I learned to use a “dip” pen in grade school, the kind with a handle and replaceable nib, then tried a couple of different fountain pens that used cartridges. Ball points came along and I never looked back. There have been lots of variants in ink over the years, but they haven’t really changed much. At least I didn’t live back in the quill pen era, though I did carry a “pen knife” as a child.
