How did the spleen get to be the village idiot among internal organs? Nobody chuckles if the gall bladder is mentioned. Even the pancreas gets more respect. (Yes, I know, the lower GI tract offers some scatological humor, but this is a family strip.)

Had to look up “Buboes” which are pus filled boils that form on swollen lymph glands (ofc caused by bubonic plague) Sounds terrible!
