What are we supposed to do without a daily dose of your sometimes very off the wall sense of humor? Will you rerun the strip? Start a new series? If none of the above, know that we will miss you.
Reminds me of that old Mac Davis song, “Lord, it’s hard to be humble….when you’re perfect in every way…” --PLEASE tell us you will start a new cartoon! The Big Picture has become my favorite strip!
Noooooo, Lenny I wish wasn’t so. Unfortunately that’s life, everything changes. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your cartoon strip and will miss Ginger & Homeslice.
At least Homeslice will keep me entertained on Instagram … but will truly miss the fact you were always willing to breach the fourth wall, and interact with your faithful.
I’ll miss you. And I am certain you’re not retiring because of negative comments because I’ve never seen a comic strip artist have more fun with trolls than you do!
I’m so sad. You’re a daily ray of sunshine Lennie. I’ve loved being privy to your world. Way WAY more of us love you than there are knuckle draggers who don’t get your work
Thank you for having shared your art, wit and the wisdom of Homeslice with us as long as you have. If you ever change your mind (again :-) or are trying something new, you’ll have a ready audience. Best wishes to all 3 of you.
I agree with all of the above. You are breaking my heart. I knew that trip to Florida was a bad idea. I have so enjoyed your life! I’m thinking about leaving GoComics myself ~ too many of my favorites are leaving or are gone……and now there isn’t even Sherpa. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck. And thank you for all the laughs and fun.
Sad to see you go. it was fun getting to know about your interesting eclectic life. Will miss one of the most unique strips and funny comments to the commentators.
I’m glad it is your choice to stop. I am so glad I found you…I think it was a just a couple years ago. I enjoyed my evenings starting from the beginning. Your take on life hit me in the right places. I loved Ginger. I love Homeslice. My cat Carl and my little town of Scappoose were even featured in one of your strips—I was so thrilled I spent the big bucks to order it framed and it now proudly hangs in my family room. From what I have seen on your web site and Instagram page, your artistic talent is both intriguing and amazing. When I visit Boston in summer 2022 I hope to visit the gallery where your art is displayed. Know that you truly connected with many people here and there will be a little empty place in our hearts and souls for awhile. Thank goodness we’ve got the amazing photos of Homeslice on Facebook and Instagram to somehow stay connected. Can’t wait to learn more in the coming but final days of The Big Picture.
I’ve been following the strip from the beginning, when it ran in the local newspaper. I added it to my GC lineup when I signed up there. I remember when it ended the first time after Ginger’s passing, and how surprised I was when it started showing up in my daily strips again. I’ll miss it . . . again.
Count me in with the rest who will really miss you. I came in part way through the re-runs – and finally went back and read from the start after I retired. Give Homie a good petting for me, and a hug to Samantha. And a nod to Ginger, your mom, dad, and sister when you talk with them again. Been privileged to spend so much time in your head. Thanks for all the fish (no so long until I absolutely have to).
All the best to you. I will forever be grateful for the strip you wrote years ago, with you pictured sitting out in nature with your late Mom giving you words of love. With all the complications from two major autoimmune diseases, for years I wasn’t at all sure I’d get to see my kids grow up and I know the inside of the local university hospital really well. But to my amazement my kids are in their thirties now and I get to be a grandmother and I love it. But that mental image of your mom talking to you has stayed with me whenever I’ve needed it and it has been a comfort. Even more, the fact that you wrote back and wished me well when I sent you a note to thank you for the strip! I was already a fan for life, but wow. Thank you, Lennie. You’re a good man. I will be quite sorry to see your strip go and I thank you for having written it.
Ditto. Very sad news for us. I have many of your strips taped up in various places. Maybe you could do one a week or some other part-time gig? We will miss you muchly.
It is obvious that you have very loyal and loving fans. The fact that we, hopefully, will be able to start at the beginning and relive The Big Picture is a comfort. There are so many things about that strip that got my attention and held on. Most of all knowing that you were real, you took time to reply to your fans. We were not just a number. Your replies today proved that. The comments from some of your fans showed how much you cared and how much they cared. I appreciated your note to me today. Do not feel as though you need to send another. That one was plenty.Chanti and namaste, Carolyn

You also look like you have a robot head on that cute body. Just let Homeslice do a comic once or twice a week. That would keep us entertained.

So we have, what, six good cartoonists left here?
I respect your decision, though, much as I wish it were otherwise.

Oh dear. Sad news indeed. Enjoyed many aspects of the strip. Especially like the tributes to musicians. And the responses to “critics”. Thank you.
