Grousing is one of those words that didn’t seem to make it into the 21st century. Sort of like Groovy.

Aw jeez, now I’m more confused! All the nouns and verbs! Grouse, the noun, a ground-dwelling bird, and Grouse, the verb, complain or grumble! I really shoulda paid more attention in school!

So, she’s a Grouse, the bird, and she’s grousing, complaining, and he’s regretting marrying a Grouse the bird, or someone who grouses or complains.
