Mom: The problem with the world is the delete button! Cathy (out of frame): Now what, mom? Mom: In ancient times--1980, for instance--changing even one word was a big ordeal. White-out...Correctable typewriter ribbon...Horrible ink erasers...Moving a paragraph meant rewriting the whole thing! People had to think before writing! They even called it "committing words to paper"! Now starting over is nothing. People write anything that pops into their heads because they can rewrite it instantly. When they can rewrite instantly, people think they can re-speak instantly......So now people say anything they want and assume they can revise it at will. When change is that easy, there's not commitment behind the words...With no commitment, there's no trust...With no trust, no stability, no marriage, no grandchildren... Cathy: Everyone's staring at you, mom. Mom: I need a delete button.

I think the Delete button doesnât get used anywhere near as often as it should be!

Yes there it is the ever-appearing apronâŠ.and the nagging. I suppose Dad is hiding at the table to keep his sanity.

As my husband would say, you canât unring a bell! I sometimes wish that humans had a delete keyâŠMore people put their feet into their mouths a lot faster these days. Blah, blah, blah has taken on a whole new meaning. lol

I was with Mom right up until she merged into crazy-mode. Cathy should learn Mr. Spockâs Vulcan neck pinch. Or install an off switch on the back of her neck.
Â
mollie05 I think Dad is safely at home. Out in public with the Mrs. would be asking for more trouble than the quiet little man can take on.
Â
janinabarnes from overnight, my mom is right there with you. Used to drive her mad. Now he shops at LLBean and Landsâ End for certain clothes. It took a lot of fine-tuning to get there though. As for me and Aaron, Levis and Dockers take almost no effort at all. I wonât even mention womenâs Size 0. (I think Aaron and lightenup talked about that a long while ago.)
Â
Also Cathyâs mom, I use a text editor to put my thoughts down first, fix ovbious tpyos, and then copy/paste here. Makes me look less like a fool.

Morning Susan actually for Aaron, âsleeping late on Sundayâ means he can come home from working overnight Saturday, cliimb into bed around 7:30 or 8:00, and sleep until about 3:00. Most days are that way. The tricky bit is how to sleep on his Friday night off and function right.

Iâve seen that spiel before on Foxtrot, but it was about the âUndoâ button, which is more to the point.

And, once again, weâre reminded from where Cathy gets her looniness. [Eye-roll]
@BillyI love the idea of âMr. Spockâs Vulcan neck pinchâ ⊠Iâd LOVE to see that in this comic. Also, was your âtpyoâ intentional, or not?
Happy Sunday, all.

I could use a delete button. I donât often know how to speak to people and sometimes I say something out loud that I shouldnât have.

rgcviper first Iâll make BIlly stop messing with your head. People who say âI have no idea what youâre talking aboutâ always do. Second, I agree that Spockâs Vulcan neck pinch would be soooo cool. I can picture Cathyâs mom going âUrpâ and then passing out on the floor. :-D
Â
Hi Mom!So you know we thought of you today.

Hi Cathyites!!Happy Holidays Susan!!Iâm all for the âdeleteâ button â for paper, screen, or verbal communication. âBackspaceâ would be even better. It gives you time to open mouth/change feet.

I could definitely use a delete or undo button! But then again, I guess none of us would get smarter or learn from our mistakes then, would we?Hello to everyone!! Iâm running so late today and Iâm tired, so I hope this is okay with you all! Hope everyone had a nice Sunday and is resting up for Monday!

Having moved on from when this strip was created, people have got into the habit of writing without thinking but then just hit âsendâ or liberate their words into the twittersphere without revision. Politicians are particularly good at this.
