He may claim to be dull, but he looks like he could be a bit of trouble if left unsupervised.

“But, I love Lovecraft, and I tend to read aloud when I get to the exciting parts. Still not a deal breaker?”

“I hope your jobs will be dull.” Like this story so far.

It’s felt like filler now for a couple weeks.

Hopefully your jobs will be dull. Ironic foreshadowing AKA “famous last words.”

Dull will soon become dire…

What he doesn’t mention is his penchant to go out in the middle of the night to the specialty horror book store also patronized by Abner and Rikki.

“I read a lot.” Uh-huh. And that’ll include many visits to the newsstand for magazines and newspapers. Maybe they can get him a Kindle or a tablet.

First words out of his mouth after a while will be, “I’m bored”

“We’re giving you a lot of freedom to move around rather than having you to stay in a motel room to give the hired assassin a better shot at both of us.”

“But that doesn’t–”

“We’re in a comic strip, remember? Realism is not an option.”

It’ll be dull until the Siamese twin he has growing out of his forehead develops further.

Two men for an around the clock assignment? Seems like the MCS is a litttle shorthanded here.

1-CHARLIE SNITCHIE: What’d you think of that news conference I set-up with Anderson Cooper? Great idea, right? Now I’m too famous for the Apparatus to try to kill!

2-DT: First of all, I’m the MOST famous person here and they’ve tried to kill me multiple times so, WRONG. Second, you look just like that actor, Michael J Pollard. So if we’re lucky, the Apparatus will mistakenly gun him down instead of you. That’s our only hope.

3-CHARLIE: Really? Pollard? I’m honored! You know, he played the snitch, C. W. Moss, the guy who squealed on Bonnie and Clyde. It just fits! Call me C. W. as a cover name, would ya?

DT: No. I think I’ll call you Bonnie And/Or Clyde. Or Swiss Cheese. Because you’ll look like one of them by the end of this assignment. SAM: Good one, Boss.

I just got confused. Thought they didn’t update the strip today. It almost looked and read just like yesterday.

Boy those close-ups are unnerving. Can the artists draw bodies? What, pray tell does Neil see that makes this guy look like trouble?

Could this be a two for one? Tracy and Sam get to bodyguard him and he gets an opportunity to read them bed time stories. I am expecting to see a panel where everybody is copping (no pun intended) some zee’s.

What does Charlie 21 read a lot of? Charles Dickens? Norman Mailer? Jacquelin Susan? Erma Bombeck? Ernest Hemingway? Only the libraries and the book stores know for sure.

“Obviously one of us will always be with you at times until you meet with the grand jury”. Does this mean that in the hotel room Tracy or Sam has to accompany him to the bathroom?

And no looking out the window either.

Great close-ups today. —Somewhere between Pop Art Imagery and would-be Film Noir technique. Tracy, Sam, and Charlie will be packed together like tuna in a tin, but “That’s Okay” ‘cause Charlie is a reader (as long as his glassed don’t get broken)….
