This hits close to home…..2:30 this morning and our cat let us know her bowl was empty. And my wife wonders why the cats name is DamCat!

That’s the trouble when living with a nocturnal pet. It sleeps all day and than wakes you up in the middle of the night.

I wonder why the Days want a cat—yes, I know they love Ludwig—and I do too . .

I recently found out that there are delayed-opening pet bowls. Can be used for dry or wet food (has an ice compartment). There is much less overnight spitting up and no 4:30 am calling by our palliative care cat—he’s loving and active in the day, but can’t go 8 hours between meals. He’s named Maui, but we think that was a mistaken spelling by his former owner’s vet as he has a very cigars & wiskey meow.

The cat we had when I was a kid fed itself on mice, only getting fresh milk, rich in cream. For entertainment it chased trucks until it ‘caught’ one, the driver stopped. After that it just lay in the grass beside the road and watched them.

Whenever Luddie is involved, always a great cartoon.

If we learned that cats were dropped off by extraterrestrials about a million years ago, I would say, “I knew it.”

“Upstairs food bowl?!” My cat gets a handful of kibble a day, and takes it or leaves it. She complains, she’s tossed out the door. Plenty of mice out there.

I never answer the meows for room service between 11p and 5.30a. House rule!

In another hour the down stairs food bowl will be empty.

Truly, cat’s have their own rules…..but nor nine lives!

Never will I be kept by a cat. Never! I get up often enough each night. Also, don’t think about mentioning “multitasking” at 0315 to me.

Man, the last couple of strips have turned Arlo into a waiter for both Janis AND Luddy!

We’ve decided nighttime cat songs, even when strident, are meant to be lullabies.

I’m surprised he didn’t get the message up close and personal.

Cat’s aren’t allowed to feed themselves so they rely on us.
