Red is starting to sound like his mother. Rover is showing that he has learned from Red.

First you start with the muzzle rub, then move to the behind the ear rub, Finally, you finish with getting rid of those nasty overnight winkers. Good to go Boys. Bring us back another great episode!

We don’t have a dog – yet (used to-will again), but my daughter’s cat LOVES chin scratches. Especially if you start around her ears and then move down the side of her face to her chin and throat. Then she is in Nirvana and purring so loud you can hear her in the next room. :o).

Our dog loved having its ears rubbed and scratched like this. It had big floppy ears (part beagle) and she like having her head scratched right around the ears and her ears gently rubbed as part of it. She used to rest her head on my knee while I was on the couch with her eyes closed as I would do this.

Rover is thankful in so many ways! His loyalty and love for Red among others!

My dog passed last year but I have a “granddog” to scritch. Trouble is, all he wants to do is chase a ball and bring it back. My once-tolerable throwing arm is no longer any good. I can’t even throw a tantrum anymore.

Yes, the dog’s favorite word: MORE! We currently have a little fuzzy white dog who loves to have the top of her head skritched. She even likes knuckle rubs! If you stop too soon, she moves her head around at different angles to see if your hand just moved or something. It’s very cute.

Funny story about my baby brother. Our parents tried to raise us to say please and thank you. If ever we didn’t answer with “yes please” or “no thank you”, instead just saying yes or no, they would say, “What did you say?” That was a cue for us to use our manners. My brother hadn’t quite got the hang of this yet. He was probably 4 years old and for some reason didn’t care for cookies. At the kitchen table, my Mom asked, “Davey, do you want a cookie?” To which he replied, “No.” My Mom said, “What?” He said, “No.” My Mom said, “What did you say?” He replied again, “No.” My Mom’s voice got a bit sterner and asked again, “Dave, do you want a cookie?”

    “No.”

    “What did you say?”

    No.”

Then her voice got another level sterner.

“Dave, do you want a cookie?”

    “No.”

    “What did you say?”

    “No.”

Then she got pretty much right next to him.

“Dave, I’m asking you if you want a cookie.”

He looked completely overcome. He sighed so deeply, and said, “Yes please.”

I don’t have a dog, but I love to scratch behind the ears of any dog who will let me do it. I think I get as much enjoyment from rubbing a dog behind its ears as it does!
