“We’re running out of Bogeymen.” What?!? How can this be? The Republicans have an overabundance of Bogeymen.

We’re too deep in debt to the one country that might manage to give us a fight for more than six months with all resources dedicated to the task.

Lets see, it is the democrats that want to spend money we don’t have, who instigated a tax on breathing, who are continuing a war without congressional agreement, and you want me to be afraid of the party that wants to cut spending and be responsible for our own actions. Darkfarce – I bet you were ready to be beamed up yesterday too. It would be hard not to find more bogeymen.

Don’t worry, they’ll find one. After all, Reagan found Grenada when a similar situation occurred in the ’80s.

Well, there’s always Canada. Granted, the victory wouldn’t be terribly spectacular, with the battle lasting about ten minutes, but then you’d have all our oil! (The American government already classifies Canada’s oil as “domestic”…)

China and Russia are now our most committed “partners”, economic production and space, while remaining Boogiemen, at the same time we go from hunting lions, to hunting mice, and spending ever more to buy baited traps that really don’t work— ah, that military-industrial-fiction publishing house.

@ImaginaryFriend: Personal responsibility? From the non-Dem party? The ones that can shoot a friend in the face and say, “oops. Sorry!” and everyone forgets about it? That starts a second war without bothering to try and finish the first one? That could have paid down the debt, but decided to take the money and run? Not that I’m saying that you’re entirely wrong about the Dems.

For once I think Wiley is being political. Prior to World War II America was still a very staunchly isolationist country. Since the end of it, we’ve had no end to numerous “bogeymen” that politicos could use to distract the masses: communists in general, Stalin, Mao Tse Dong, Castro, Khadafy, Gorbachev. Then the Cold War ended and suddenly America had no more convenient “bad guys” for the bread and circuses of the masses. At least not until Hussein invaded Kuwait, until he was killed. Osama bin Laden for 9/11, who is also now dead. Suddenly there are no more bad guys for the military-industrial complex to point at. The bread and circuses are over and the folks who’re really in charge are terrified that sheeple will start doing something.

..he’s talking boogey men with oil….The funny thing about the Civil War..Lincoln’s Republicans commendeered the south, broke up state govenments, wouldn’t let rebel soldiers vote, and a whole bunch of other stuff to get their retribution on the south. The Republicans were most hated.

On the other hand, there were those Tuesday Evening Democrat meetings..otherwords,the KKK..trying their absolute best show just who was boss.

People either forget their own history or it’s never taught them..to think some of those Tuesday nighters are now those stinking damnable Yankee republicans

What I find cute is someone labeling another according to their own prejudices rather than the other persons stated beliefs. Where have I stated I am a “Democrat”? What is also cute is a great chest thumping argument with no substance – if there is a country that has been invaded that has no resources and the general public complain about the action… please name it.
