I agree! Wake up Amelia! Don’t start to be boring at your age.

And Spud’s all like – she put me first!

I love the artwork in this toon. You can almost feel the weather.

But she’s leaning against that tree root. Isn’t that half a hug?

Why did I think of spongebob when reading this?

I tried to hug a tree but it just barked at me.

Wallace has a great outlook on life. Very upbeat. Amelia on the other hand is the foil. Spud? Spud sees a world that is out to kill him and he loves Amelia who would like to kill him.

Then my number is about 100……

I keep seeing a little optical illusion in the first panel. Spud’s shoes and the swirl make the rock look like it has a smiling face. I can’t help it—it’s there every time I look.

Amelia will one day become: Queen of the on-line trolls! Better make friends with her now!

On the one hand, I can see Amelia’s position – trees are for climbing, or sitting under, or making things out of – hugging? Not so much. On the other, finding peace and connecting to nature can be challenging these days – for some hugging a tree is just the trick.

I love how the drawing shows the effect of the wind – the flags, the tree, their hair!

Today’s Bliss is also on the theme of tree-hugging.

I’m too self-conscious to embrace a tree. But I will give the occasional thoughtful pat.

According to the internet trees and shrubs are different things – so no Wallace, we shouldn’t be counting shrubs to provide Amelia and accurate count.

Notice how Wallace answers without assuming Amelia’s question is a sarcastic jab. On the other hand, Amelia can be quite sarcastic. :D
