When I was in pilot training, I saw a Thunderbird Demonstration. Part of the act was a pass by one of the aircraft, straight and level, inverted.

I decided to try that, only at 35,000 feet instead of 35 feet. To do that, you have to push one negative G. Anything on the floor of the aircraft is now on the top of the canopy (a good way to check for FOD). I sort of, eventually, got the hang of it (literally since I was hanging in my straps – I also had to hold my feet up on the floor).

When I came back, one of my classmates stated, “Man, you look terrible, your eyes are all bloodshot!” When I checked in a mirror, he was right, it look like someone drew tree branches on my eyeballs with red ink.

Humans were not designed to be upside down except when floating around in amniotic fluid.

It’s all downhill from here!
