Before I was fully vaccinated (4-12), I thought I would head to a restaurant for a treat with a friend or solo; I’m not ready either and have no intention to stop wearing my mask – far too many stopped on first dose or have refused to get vaccinated at all.
Strangely I’m a social person by nature, but I have become a bit of a hermit over the last few years. My friends are mostly gone, and family lives far away. Even without COVID I’d be talking to my animals more than people.
Still being careful even tho I’m vaxxed. I don’t wear a mask outside at the park, still not ready to dine in a restaurant, have gone back to dance class, but clothes all go in the washer and I get a shower when I come home. Still wear a mask for anything indoors and I’ve avoided crowded places outdoors.
IMHO what is going to make us continue to wear masks in situations where we’re in close proximity to others is the reluctance of some to get vaccinated. Only then will the powers that be lift the restrictions and allow things to get back to normal. I haven’t heard a logical statement yet as to why someone WON’T get the vaccination(s).
I am fully vaccinated and am going back into society. I am confident that most of the fence straddlers will ultimately get the vaccine and the really hard-core anti-vaxxers are a very small (albeit very noisy) minority. I feel fortunate that where I live (DC) we will be opening up more of the city in May and that 83% of our city’s residents who got the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine got their second dose. And our rates are dropping. I still believe we have a shot at herd immunity, but it will likely take states where anti vaxxers hold sway (like, say, SD) a lot longer to get there than states that played by the rules. The end to this is coming. Just not as quickly as we’d like.

I’m still at the “get away from me, you idiot, why aren’t you wearing a mask?” phase.

I received both vaccines, but I still wear my mask everywhere away from home and social distance as much as I can. You can never be too careful.
