Well, Officer McClelland and Midge, thank you for your services. (What sort of appearance when it comes to wine on the ISS?)

I’m sure the taste, smell and appearance of bottles from that same batch of wine that were left on Earth had changed after a year too. I think the more interesting question would be were those changes different between the ISS and earthbound bottles.

If the wine is anything like I imagine the air in the space station is; it should smell like a fart.

Some Ardbeg whisky spent 3 years on the space station. The tasters who tried it after it returned to Earth said they noticed significant changes in the flavor profile.

…but the slug’s decapitated body can’t grow another head, so what’s the point?

If only humans had this capability, the guillotine shows would have been fun to watch.

Did the year in space improve or worsen the wine?

About the wine, from the linked article, “It’s hard for me to say if it was better or worse. But it was definitely different.” https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-56992086

I’m betting the ISS staff drank the good stuff and refilled the bottles with box wine…

But WHY would a sea slug pop off its own head?

I’m surprised that we didn’t hear from Jason regarding the officer and K-9. Perhaps he had a smaller K-9 and both he and the dog died the day before the other one. Hah!

Why would anyone/anything voluntarily “pop off” their own head?

I wonder which had the greater impact on the wine, the microgravity or the constant temperature and pressure controlled environment. I have heard about certain whiskeys that are aged aboard ships that circumnavigate the glob, giving them a unique flavor due to the changes in weather during their passage. Aboard the ISS, the temperature, pressure and humidity are all constant
