Oh Lord, I’m getting old! I remember this arc. The good news is I remember it.

Believe it or not, Moe will get smarter as time goes by!!

It has been my unfortunate experience that the Moes of this world react to uncertainty about what you meant by pounding you (or in my case, depositing me butt-first in to the 55 gallon drums that were used for trash/garbage around the school. I quickly figured out that shutting up, staying out of their way — or/and in the presence of adults if possible — worked a lot better than getting in one lick that they didn’t even understand.

I kind of identify more with Moe here when I was a 6-year-old kid in first grade, even though I looked like Calvin complete with the striped shirt. I remember going to the school library and reading my first books like Doctor Seuss’ Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham, and I was overcome with that vocabulary. Like Moe, at 6 years old I am pretty sure I wouldn’t understand what ‘maladjusted antisocial tendencies’ meant, and I wouldn’t be able to pronounce pituitary gland. Or even know what the hay he was talking about.

Moe, all you have to understand is; if Calvin is talking to you, he’s insulting you! Don’t bother thinking about it.

Big hand and little brain.

The answer is, “yes,” Calvin.

Be careful, Calvin or HE may give you a big hand!

one wonders, why Calvin does not apply some of his energies to his studies? If he did he would be advancing, but where is the fun in that?

It’s pick on Moe week. Inverted bullying.

While the audience gives Moe a big hand, Moe will give Calvin a big fist in 3… 2… 1…

Calvin is right.

I took a lot of gruff from bullies when I was a kid, but I also had a lot of fun at their expense.

Moe has two big hands already.

Calvin may have to explain how you get a limb in a cast by being sarky.

And yet, somehow, Calvin still has teeth!

Now run, Calvin, run.

I guess I’m the only one who finds Calvin’s triangular mouth disturbing.

I tend to read any lines from Moe in a Keanu Reeves/Ted Theodore Logan voice…

I tried this on a bully when I was a kid. Didn’t work the same way, and I just looked stupid my self.

When I first read this, I didn’t know the phrase “give him a big hand,” so I pictured a literal version.

Moe looks exactly like William Barr!

I have asked that same question of others. Of course, they never understand me whether I use big words or not.

It’s fun to see that Moe doesn’t win all the time.
