We moved in Jan. 2020 and I don’t know if there are any enclosed malls around here. The “mall” in downtown Salem is just an unconnected cluster of stores with no parking and lots of homeless people. Lots of little strip malls, though.
Rarely went to a mall before the pandemic – only when husband was bored and wanted to go and walk around somewhere – though we would walk into the mall to get to Ikea for Sunday night dinner, their 4 smorgasbord parties, and when sometimes we actually bought “stuff” there.
My saying before the pandemic was "A day without a trip to Walmart is a day we went to Microcenter instead – and some days we go to both. Guess which stores we have been during the pandemic (other than 3 trips to a supermarket for holiday food) – yes, Walmart (one or the other of 2 regular stores, a Neighborhood Market for our bi-monthly food runs and one trip to see the first superstore to open in our area -which was terribly disappointing compared to their superstores elsewhere).
Oh, wait, we did go to Bjs once and for tires to Costco twice – 2 different vehicles.

I haven’t been to the mall in about a year and a half. I wonder if it’s still there.

I thought all those NOT HERE boxes were for the stores – ‘cause that’s what our mall looks like. Big and empty.

Raise your hand if there’s a “Hickory Something” Mall anywhere near you. I think I know of three around here. Ten if you go to a 300 mile radius.

“But do any of us know where we really are . . . ?”
Mall management will be having a talk with the philosopher who designed this mall map — and it isn’t likely to go well.
