Brings to mind Spider Robinson’s essay on “Silly Weapons Throughout History”. Specifically, his mention of a prehistoric tribe whose warriors used their wives as battle flails (then referred to as the “swordbroad”), much as Tip used Nick here. The warriors were prone to boasting about the cutting edges of their wives’ tongues.
The tribe (then referred to as the “Prix”) went extinct, “for tolerably obvious reasons” according to Robinson.
