Why clean, when you can cover it up? ; )

Dollar store paint on grease; that’ll hold.

She is right, you know! Cheaper and easier to paint the wall than scrub it. I repaint every couple of years and it always feels so fresh. :-))

It reminds me of the ads for the shower “renovation” companies that put a big plastic cover over the existing tub and tiles. Do they thoroughly clean and sterilize all of the surfaces that they’re covering before they install the new shower stall? If they don’t, won’t a huge colony of mold and mildew grow underneath?

The dollar stores carry cleaners too for the same price as paint.

Well, at least scuff the grease up with some sand paper so it’ll have some tooth.

I had an old car with a few holes rusted out of it (into it?). It wasn’t worth spending much money on, but I got curious. I filled all holes from what was left over in a can of Great Stuff Foam. It swole up and overflowed the holes.

She was horrified by the thought of driving around with the yellow foam bubbling out. I took my knife and shaved off the overflow, then sprayed the foam with a one dollar can of paint of the same color, then feathered outward to transition the colors nicely. She admitted she couldn’t see where the holes used to be.

We got several more years out of it until she made a turn too close to a concrete drum.

(If you are going to destroy a car, better to do it to an older one…even though it still had several more years it could have run.)

Spray paint over greasy stuff? It will not stick.

Finest paint and Dollar Store. I guess that it’s all comparative.
