My sister had a cat named “Lucy Sky” the other cats and even the dogs gave her a wide berth. She was eating at the community feeding area and one of the cats had a look on its face saying: “I be glad to wait until you finish.”
At least Earl is well trained. Opal set up the situation, taking the dog into their house, putting the cat in its face, which resulted in the mess. Innocent bystander Earl gets to clean it up.
1951 substituted for a neighbor kid who delivered the Call Chronicle in Allentown PA suburbs. He told me to watch out for the 2 Great Danes Mr. Hess [owner of Hess Brothers Dept. Store] had on his property. I was obedience training our Doberman at the time. The Great Danes heard my Western Auto Doodle Bug put putting up the driveway. They ran around from the back of the house toward me. I got off my scooter, stood my ground & said: “SIT”. The great Danes skidded to s stop & sat…much to the delight of Mr. Hess who was watching from a window.

Sweet little kitty? Only in your imagination, Opal!

Opal does a good job of keeping ahold of the cat.

That dog is a great dane? It must not be fully grown. It’s nowhere near as large as Marmaduke.

My dog also does that on the floor; so does my brother.

He’s small for a great Dane. Must be a puppy.

Some dogs are just plain whimps.

Well that didn’t work the way Opal wanted.
Now the dog “knows” to “Be afraid. Be very afraid.”
… and a note to Opal: “Muffin is not just a sweet little kitty.”

Opal should not try to teach a lie to a poor innocent/stupid dog.

Opal, oddly enough most one on one relationships are two sided. What a concept!

I’m so sorry, my kitten killed your great dane. What? How is that even possible? He choked to death while swallowing her.

When we first got our Great Dane, it took the cats less than 48 hrs to have the puppy kitty-trained.
