Carp Diem

The Sun hasn’t moved. Either he’s the world’s fastest artist or the Earth has stopped rotating.

Ain’t see nothing yet. He’s still gott’a fetch a fishing pole and worm. And a bucket of ice with beer. Time stands still for no man except the man with a vision.

Those are clouds of steam from the sun sinking into the ocean. Really.

Surrealist, in some ways.

Fish are easier to paint than the water’s surface.

Gotta say: Monty is true to his art.

Now I know the function of the kerchief. It keeps the salt water from running down his shirt.

Not sure I get this. He stuck his head in the water and saw a fish. Is that it?

“Go soak your head”, actually worked out for Monty.

Gotta love a fella so committed to his craft.

He’s upside down, wouldn’t he be inhaling water?

Glad he only saw a fish and not a mafia informant wearing cement overshoes at the bottom…

That beret must be glued on. I admire his tenacity. Wake me when he gets proficient enough to give Copely a run for his money. I’m still haunted by the shark.

The artist in him definitely gets involved with his subject matter…..

Hey, Monty, the snorkel won’t work if you stick it straight down in the water. You’ll breathe the ocean. Guess you just found that out, but oddly you don’t seem to be drowned.

Why is light shining on the bottom of the fish ?

Monty’s plein aire experience takes it to the limits and beyond for an added sous marine element!

(And it’s kind of that sunset to linger for so long!)
