Jeez.. exactly what did Peter do that nobody is even willing to so much as consider letting him on any athletic team? It certainly isn’t as if he is lacking in determination?
At my high school, you tried out for, and made the team or didn’t, for every sport except football. This being Ohio, and HS football thus being more a religion than a sport, you just went out for it; everybody who wanted to was on the team. I guess they didn’t want to force any of us to be heathens (or they wanted to sure they had enough bodies to keep a team on the field as the inevitable injuries piled up).
I played for a coach that would, if a player came out for a sport, and tried to play all four years of high school, he would ensure that the player lettered at least once in the four years. A lot only lettered their senior year, but letter they did.

There is always boxing. Maybe a 55 year old celebrity will be willing to pay you to fight him or her.

Maybe he can give the locker room speech for one of those sports.

What school would post a list of cut players on the bulletin board?

At my high school, soccer and track would take anyone who showed up. It was a lot of fun, actually.

A joke then, but now boys compete in girls’ sports.
