Sigh. Mixed tropes: Honey bees don’t make paper nests—they’re more crevice dwellers. The paper nest—such as the one figured—is that associated with the non-honey making, baldfaced hornet, Dolichovespula maculata (L.).

But then neither species packages its wares in boxes, so I guess a need a greater dose of suspension of disbelief! :-)
