Is there like a political metaphor here? The left half of this cartoon appears to take place in a communist country, while the right half clearly takes place in a capitalist country.
I can’t stand Scratch!! When, oh when, is he going to go back to the Green Ship??? I’m seriously thinking of starting a petition for Chip Dunham to get him back to his owner, allergies be damned!! There’s medication for that; plus, the longer a person is exposed to what they are allergic to (especially cats and dogs) the less their allergic response. I am proof of that. I used to be allergic to cats, especially those with particularly heavy dander; but now it doesn’t bother me. We ALWAYS had cats growing up and I ALWAYS had cats up until about 4 years ago. I’m looking for another cat to adopt now. Since it’s been so long since I had prolonged exposure, I fully expect for my allergies to flare up but I know they will go away in just a couple of months.

The mice should just unplug one of the fans and skeedadle to their lair!
Not sure how an old wooden pirate ship has electric outlets in the walls, though I’m sure many people will reference cartoon logic!

With that attitude, Scratch isn’t going to be invited to the Dance in the Dumpster.

Panel 5: Scratch coughs up a fur ball, in which a tiny red shirt is visible.

Scratch would be cooler without the sweater.

Geez, Scratch is horrible and ugly, pitch him overboard, let him swim to the other ship.

Fans don’t cool the air. In fact, the motor actually warms the air slightly.

So Ray is a dog, right. Why does he wear pants and talk and Louie is pantless and doesn’t talk?

Or maybe it’s just a cat being selfish like they all are (and as depicted in previous strips). Sheesh, not everything has to be political.

another good reason to scratch Scratch from the strip.

That’s right, Scratch, don’t give those rats anything.
