Miles: “Sure, Kyle. Wanna go rough up Kevin a bit while we wait?”

Devastating.

Well. It’s not so weird that a parent call a son with the name of the other son. But in this situation is quite depressing.

What a sad strip!

How distant and aloof was he?

That why I always use nicknames. Sport, Kiddo, Tater. The kid can’t tell.

Those of us lucky enough to be Miles’s and not Kevins should really keep this in mind more often. I for one can’t imagine the havoc a situation like that would have wreaked on my childhood mental state. Those who had to (and currently have to) be little kids dealing with things like this – their own father forgetting their name – deserve a whole lot of respect, patience and kindness from those of us who didn’t. And yes, I know this is “just a comic” but it’s a real thing people deal with. This strip made me want to give Kevin a big hug!

I often wish GoComics would give us an alternative to “like”. Today’s strip could use a “hug” or a “sad”. And other strips could use “dislike” or even “hate”.

So Kyle dyes his hair black?

There is something about their faces in the last panel. Sad yet understanding. Whatever it is, it’s perfect. Also this is why I like this strip. Yes it’s childish hijinx and that’s awesome but the strip is also very real.

He’s more like a " dad", eh?

Is this the first we have learned of Kevin’s dad moving out?

I got a bad feeling about this storyline. Mainly because I think that Kevin is gonna go through a huge letdown.
