Supposedly (authenticity not guaranteed) in the 1970s the idea of computer language translation was going to be dead easy — imminently. One early test from English to Russian to English put in the original text “Out of sight, out of mind.” Translated to Russian and back, it returned, “Blind and crazy.”
Do any of you remember a game (or maybe it’s better called a demonstration) of a bunch of people sitting in a circle and the 1st person would whisper some story in the next persons ear, who would in turn pass it onto the next, and so forth…. that no one else could hear… then when it got to the last person who would tell what HE heard, compared to the story started by the first…. and the end story was nothing like the first?
As I mentioned here recently, the bird is a bit of a birdbrain. They will all be better served (pun intended) if their next meal is a delicious dinner of Barbecued Bird.
