I have videos on my phone of me exercising as reference for a 3-d animated character in Poser performing the exercises. Now I could have just used the videos, but my movement is usually short of the ideal. Not to mention, I’m waaay too self-conscious for that and not photogenic at all.

Here’s me thinking the modern cartoonist just googled “typist”. It’s that commitment to detail which separates professionals from hacks like me.

Had his phone been able to take photos, Norman Rockwell would have gone berserk. A big one for reference photos.

You’re a brave woman Amanda. I’m in no way photogenic. Love taking pics but that’s so nobody can get one of me :-)

You need a human factors overlay for the camera app. Kind of like the poseable dolls people got at art supply stores.

As a cartoonist, I admit that I hate taking pictures of myself! My profile pic is a drawing, of myself, that I did, 6 years ago!

It’s quite possible.

I never noticed before (never had the inclination to) that you actually draw the full 5 digits on each hand! A lot of cartoonists stick with 4, because it can look odd/crowded with the correct number. Seeeee? The “silly poses” do serve a purpose!

Look at you all authentic! I search Pinterest! Though tbh I referenced my own bands last week.
