Even in my wild youth, I was annoyed by music that loud.

My grandson’s wedding – two weddings booked at the same venue, the rooms were side by side with only a thin wall between them and the DJ’s kept turning the music up higher and higher on both sides! Did I mention I HATE noise?

It was a parental warning that proved true. “That loud Rock and Roll is going to make you go deaf!”

How he learn to stop feeling sorry for himself and start doing some homework while those other kids are slacking off? Getting a good job means graduating from a good college. There are only so many seats available in a good college, and they are going to give those seats to the “most qualified” applicants. So stop worrying about a dumb zit and get with the program. It is a jungle out there, and every other kid is your enemy.

You often hear complaints about “teens and their loud music.” A lot of adults are just as guilty of this. Go to any “sports bar”-type restaurant and there are multiple TVs and music blasting at full volume, loud conversation and obnoxious cackling, and downright rude behavior in general. You can’t conduct a conversation with the person right next to you without shouting.

I can’t stand these places and fail to see why they are so popular.

Went to Applebee’s once before the pandemic and the music was so loud my friend and I couldn’t hear each other. And while we were eating some waitress ran the carpet sweeper back and forth.

That feeling, when you didn’t go, and the tales of what great times your friends had and then they tell you after they get back.

I once worked Security at a sorority party. The party was over at 11:30, p.m… my pulse was still “booming” from the noise, at 1:30, a.m. That was the last time I did that.
