There’s always the driver who ignores the new pavement signs and decorates the back of a new SUV and rocker panels with a new black decal, then gets upset at it.
It’s that blasted seal-coating that I hate. They lay down a layer of tar then spread small pebbles on it to prolong the life of a highway. The stuff is rough, hard on tires, and NOISY. Car makers have done so much to make our ride quieter and along comes the seal-coating and you have to turn your music up to full blast in order to hear it over the noise of the road.
FYI folks, asphalt is mixed at about 280+°F (about 138°C or more) before its poured. That’s gonna sting and leave a mark, not to mention the stuff sticks to you all the while it burns. Cartoons are one thing but in real life that’s gonna ruin your day.

But it doesn’t burn their feet? Haha, comic book physics.

As far as I know, asphalt doesn’t dry, it cools and solidifies.

First known use of asphalt was from 3000 BC, but it did not catch on for roads till 1870. This explains it.

Only the first mile or so, then it acts as a protective cover. Also, as glue on your but crack.

Hot asphalt is a thick liquid wit volatile emulsifiers. As it cools and the emulsifiers volatilize, it becomes solid and dry.

Too hot and asphalt melts.
