Any digital files that exist today will probably be gone by then, either lost or too corrupted to open. Unless they’re constantly reloaded in to the new formats, but sooner or later it will become impossible to preserve them. I have computer files from the early 2000s that I can’t open any more. The programs that created them are gone and the new programs can’t read them.
That’s why it’s a shame that communications have now gone almost completely digital. We have the photos and letters from our ancestors, but future generations aren’t going to have anything that wasn’t saved on a hard copy. All of the emails and digital photos that exist today will be gone.

Do you want to look cool, or intelligent?

Baldo, you’re assuming the internet as we know it will still exist at that point. Ancestry.com most likely won’t be around by then.

You may want to update your ‘cool’ photo every now and then. I’m embarrassed by some of the things I once wore.

We’re talking what, 80-100 years into the future?
