I must be in good shape at 60 years old since I have yet to pull a muscle while eating. Unless he indicated his muscle is his heart, then I did get some heartburn before while eating at my mother-in-laws, who is a lousy cook.
I pulled a muscle just getting out of a reclining chair, I suddenly couldn’t stand up straight and kneeled over onto the floor for a few minutes. I could then get up, but had to walk bent over for a while before I could straighten up. It was years ago, but I still remember it.
Poor old soul Brutus looks a little fatter today? No speed eating Brutus. Grandma always said to chew food 32 times before swallowing. Think she was toothless.
Depends on the muscle of course, but yeah, not a good sign considering the jaw muscles are the most exercised muscle group that we all have. However, if you can’t lift your fork, that’s really bad. Better make sure that your will is up to date…….

Same (almost) to me. We’re getting older, my friend.

Surely, it wasn’t a jaw muscle. Those have to be the strongest in Brutus’s body!

I once sneezed and tore my back to shreds could not walk for days without severe pain.

Maybe the muscle he pulled was in his arm lifting the fork.

You know you’re getting old when your back goes out more than you do.

You must have been doing some real serious eating.

You should always do some warm up exercises first. Chew gum, but not the bubble type!

Not so much “out of shape” as “getting old”.

Brutus must feel a kinship to Garfield. See today’s Garfield classics

You also exercise poor judgment. Consistently.

Brutus’ problem isn’t too little exercise, it’s too much of the wrong kind of exercise, fork lifting.
cuzinron47 about 3 years ago
But those muscles should be well exercised.
rhpii about 3 years ago
At least he didn’t pull a muscle while thinking.
V45mikky about 3 years ago
His stomach gets lots of exercise, he will never pull a muscle there.

What’s worse – a muscle or your TMJ?
