When I was a teenager in the â70s boys played pinball but they also had jobsâŠnewspaper route, babysitting. Now they just veg out with the phone, playing video games. Iâm sure Stevie is not going to be happy about being volunteered.
I also make outgoing calls from the bathroom so the person Iâm calling recognizes Iâm calling from the bathroom and can wonder what else it is Iâm doing. This way of gaining an edge on the other person is something they donât teach you at Harvard Business School.
Hate to state the obvious, but why canât Janis help Arlo move the chair? Some woman have less upper body strength than some men (my wife for example) but any help is better than none.
Donât know what is up with Stevie, maybe he has a developmental delay. If you have meant one Autist, you have met ONE Autist. I have worked with one Austist who can do calculus in their head, but canât quite make dinner for themselves. Too many moving parts. Stop being judgmental.
When I was born, Dad wanted to name me Billy. His mom said, âName him William and call him Billy.â In 4th grade there were 4 kids named Bill. I came home and told my Dad I wanted to be call William. He looked at me and said, âOkay, Bill.â Most of my side of the family still calls me âBillâ while my wifeâs side calls me âWilliamâ.

Arloâs ego is soon to be bruised!
Janis should have left this alone!

At an early age I made it known that I would only answer to my given name, by ignoring anything else.

Why doesnât Janis go out and help him? Thatâs the first thing I do when my husband needs a hand.

Never mind.

Just do what I do. Take a saw to it and take it out in pieces. Easier for the trash collectors to dispose of.

Janis will need to pay for the help. You donât ask acquaintances to move heavy furniture for free.

What happened to Robin, Pamâs friend who was new to the neighborhood?
And what happened to Arloâs âwork wifeâ?

My 5â3" wife would have handled one end of that chair without batting an eye⊠or calling a neighbor.

I didnât figure out until the next day strip that the Stevie heâs inquiring about is her son, NOT her husband.
