I would wait. Dentists always have those interesting magazines from 3 years ago in their waiting rooms.

The first mechanical dental drills date from the 1790s and were foot powered. Still, that would be better than a hand powered drill.

In the 50"s my Dentist used a drill powered with cables. Was so painful!! Lots of smoke from burning tooth.
