I think that third one was the only outfit my company used to deal with for my business trip rentals. (Just one of a number of reasons I’m grateful for being retired now.)
’Round these parts there was a company years ago called “Rent-A-Wreck” that rented cars that were generally a few years old. Great idea, the cars were well taken care of, but because they saved on buying new, the savings were passed on to the clientele. I saw one of the original cars recently, that is undergoing restoration- a Morris 1000!
Anytime I rent a car, it’s usually a much later model than my own with a lot more bells and whistles. I must ask the rental agent to spend a few minutes with me to go over the basics.
Recently I was in eastern Iowa and rented a small Toyota. No complaints, except that they wouldn’t take my debit cards. They wanted a real CREDIT card. Dunno why.
