You have to wonder about the intelligence of a boss who would keep someone on the pay roll who is as poor of an employee as Veeblefester considers Brutus to be.

Weeblefester is very rich. I noticed he has money sacks on both sides of the desk.

He thinks so poorly of Brutus and yet they’ve often eaten together and, I believe, golfed together.

Ah, a version of the old compliment sandwich, the compliment pizza. You start with the crust of a compliment, then pile on the complaints as if they were extra toppings.

Or lack there of.

Something is missing inside of Veebs. He needs Brutus in a very basic way.

I worked at a company that had you fill out your own evaluation. Then the manager would review them, if only for comic relief.

that other part doesn’t sound promising.

I had to fill out a self evaluation. Had to list my strengths and weaknesses and what I could do to improve. This wasn’t for work though, it was for my wife. She’s a mean boss.

Maybe he’ll commend them too! Jk, I know he won’t, but one can hope… More likely Veeblefester likes Brutus’ loyalty and congenial nature so he can insult him without Brutus quitting.

Love the power move of not even having a chair so no one can sit down. Gets rid of visitors faster. Maybe I should try that at home…

So no raise again?

I worked for a large company that gave annual raises based on a 1-5 grading system on your evaluation. I got 4’s every year. One year I got counted off for a messy desk. All I had on it was my computer, the file I was working on and a pen. I asked why and my boss said he had to find something wrong as he never gave a 5.

Molasses than the sulfur, a good management style. At least he does acknowledge his good points…..

Um; Check out the one “employee” on the Baldo strip who’s related to the Boss ! That’s one useless employee to be sure !

Since I am sure Veeblefester has few if any friends, the fact that Brutus is loyal and congenial makes him a very important person for Rancid to keep around.
