Yeah, while routine can be a comfort at times, getting a little shake up from time to time is a good thing. Keeps you on your toes. Can you tug the leash in another direction and get him to follow?

It could be worse Fred, you could have missed dinner or your walkies! He could walk you on Grosvenor Avenue

In the old days, “Dear” would have headed for the pub.

Fred our girls don’t seem to care if they cover the same area or not. The important thing for them is to get out and go walking ;-)

Fred is showing his adventurous side. He wants a change of routine and new territory to explore.

Fred is longing for new paths and new trees and bushes to sniff. You can’t blame a fellow for getting a bit bored with the same old thing.

Our girl Bella doesn’t care about our route, just so long as we’re taking her out for a ride and then a walk; our road isn’t a safe place to walk, so any walk necessarily also involves a ride. She’s a fan of the path along the creek that runs through the old downtown area.

We have a dozen or so routes for walks at this place. They vary from short to very long. Occasionally, we don’t make it to the end of the driveway.

I let our dog choose the route every morning. 90% of the time he will go the same way.
