“But it’s not like making a comic is work or something; why would you ever need to take time off?!” – people who have never ever created anything in their lives
Only 2 weeks? USAians don’t take enough time off. Two weeks is barely enough time. 1 to 2 days to get there, 1 day to adjust to the time differential, 1 day to adjust, or not, to the food, 5 days to leisurely enjoy the place, 2 days to run around trying to see and do all the things you wanted to do, one day to realize that you have to go back to work soon, one to buy souvenirs and panic pack, 1 to 2 to return, 1 to adjust to being home and then get up too darn early in the morning to go back to race the other rats. And you don’t get any more until you’ve had 5 years at the same company. And don’t forget the shutdowns at Xmas where you take time off without pay if you are not high enough on the corporate ladder but cannot count it as a layoff for purposes of unemployment insurance.
This comic strip deals with the reason comic strips sometimes take rerun weeks (Excluding all rerun mode Peanuts, For Better or For Worse, daily Doonesbury, and why doesn’t it withdraw from all newspapers for good Get Fuzzy).

2 weeks? I have taken 2 weeks off before, but my usual is 1 week.

I do a daily, too, but I write ahead far enough to cover while I’m gone.

Personally, I’d do a weekly strip. Just like FoxTrot is now. I can’t think of storylines and commentary every second.
