you have to have winter to enjoy spring. winters always seemed much colder in tokyo, where the chilly winds blew down the concrete canyons, but there was no snow most of the time so everyone just treated it like fall, except slightly colder. here, we get snow and know how to dress properly for winter…
The coldest place I’ve ever been was Korea. We have el nino, la nina, n’oreasters and the pineapple express. They have a weather phenomenon called “The Siberian Express.”
Generally, I enjoyed visiting Korea, but I would not want to live there.
I think the same thing. My answer is: I was born here and I’ll die here. I DID live in FL & TX, but circumstances brought me back home 33 years ago. I now live 3 blocks from the house I grew up in. I simply hunker down in the house unless I have an appointment. My Mr. runs the errands.
I like winter, although my favorite seasons are spring and fall. The only time winter bothers me is when it is slippery outside, which doesn’t happen very often. I dislike summer and hot weather. I’ve been in too many stores and buses and elevators full of smelly, sweaty people, and there are way too many people wearing too little clothes and showing way too much flab. It’s bad enough seeing guys with huge pot bellies with shirts on. And guys, if you are going to wear shorts, please shave your legs, I beg you. And what is with guys wearing those baggy short skirt-pants that look like they are wearing their grandmother’s culottes? No, I do not look forward to summer.
Mostly been in the south in the Nav, but raised in S NJ, then high school in N Tx, then the Nav. Went to Iceland (brrrr), Barbados, Midway Island, Gulf of Mexico places, even TX near 2nd hometown. Now firmly placed in the South with warm seasons normally all around. So yes, I would never go back up North as I remember the winters in S NJ. N Tx had cold winters too but not as long.
I have thought about moving south, but it has taken me years to build up circles of friendship and I don’t want to leave these to start all over again. I have been pretty efficient at finding good warm clothing and boots.
