Yes, Republicans have just been making stuff up since at least the 90s.

Huh. So that’s how he met Chase. (I must have been AWOL in this time frame.)

Hell, between Kennedy and Clinton the White House should have it’s own playboy grotto.

(Spoiler alert)This meeting signals the start of a loving connection between two different mindsets, that Trudeau later decides to break up.

Both parties have now gone for an impeachable, draft dodging womanizer, with shady real estate history, who ended up blowing bubbles with the economy. Bubbles smiled.

“Boring” was indeed the public’s reaction to “Whitewater,” which was why “Special Counsel” Ken Starr, appointed to investigate it, decided to spend almost all his time on Bill Clinton’s sex life instead.

Bob Dole is looking positively normal compared to what came after him.

And at least HE served in the military.

Like him or not, Bill’s running commentary during his State of the Union after being impeached was one of the best moments of political theater in modern history.

White water was 7 years of Kenneth Starr persecuting the Clintons and all he got was one person in jail for contempt of court and a dirty story that republicans enjoyed dragging out before the public.

I remember the when the 1st Dem primary was just getting started. September 1991 and it was a toss up between Governor Moonbeam and Paul Tsongas. Even Time magazine was publishing negative stories about the sleazy AR Governor, hinting at all manner of skeletons in his closet.

And then America met Slick. No matter what else is ever said, Bill Clinton was arguably the most dynamic and charismatic American politician of the 20th century. Even his political enemies almost universally admit that he was unequaled in grabbing the room, working it and making it his own.

By February the MSM saw the writing on the wall and was all in for Bill. Jerry Brown had not gained a single point in 5 months. Tsongas was polling well in New England but cratering everywhere else. The MSM closed ranks and Clinton became the immaculate reincarnation of JFK. Suddenly, there was not even a speck of scandal or controversy to be heard or read. Until after the election.

Tsongas got pilloried as Sen. “Tax-on-gas” and was doomed.

In any case, he wouldn’t have made it through his second term, dying in 1997.
