Haven’t read a newspaper in years, mainly because there isn’t one around here (I’d say it is a one-horse town, but the horse died). I get my comics online, I use the TV to watch racing (and The Herd) that’s all the engaging with the real world I can deal with.

If you want to be an ostrich with its head in the sand, then yeah. Just because you don’t know something doesn’t mean it’s not real or won’t happen. But some of us are too wrapped up in it and we come to the comics pages to read and laugh and forget for a while.

You can ignore reality, but you can’t force reality to ignore you.

Not everyone loves worrying about everything they can’t do anything about. She thinks that if you worry about something, that makes everything better. No one has told her that there is an asteroid heading for Earth that will destroy human life or that when any of the super-volcanos erupt, it will destroy ‘life as we know it.’ I know these things and I know that there is nothing I can do about it, and I also know that worrying about these things will only harm me. So, I don’t.
