One my best Christmas’s was getting a new bike and having a summer like day to enjoy it. My parents had got me a new bike because my father had given my old bike to a less fortunate family for one of their kids.
It is so nice to wake up to see that the green lawn is back! Remember just 3 days ago when there was such a blanket of snow that it covered Snoopy and the entire doghouse? Everybody sing, “I’m dreaming of a green Christmas. Just like the summer days we could ride our bikes in.”
The Lord is very concerned for the meek and lowly. Woodstock is such and his example is a reflection of all the humble of this world who seek to do the right and bow to oppression and face the challenges of mortality with faith, even when flying upside down. These are those who endure many things and have hope to endure all things.
When my parents offered me a bicycle as a present (birthday, not Christmas), I asked for a typewrite instead. Not only was it cheaper, but I’ve still got it.
Growing up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a bike under the tree would have been useless. The amount of snow on the ground by Christmas made riding a bike impossible.
I wonder if Snoopy ever woke up on Christmas morning and found a new bicycle parked under the Christmas tree? I certainly hope so. Or something comparable or better.
Reminds me of an old saying: a man needs a woman like a bird needs a bicycle or something like that. :) A memorable holiday season to all (and for the right reasons).
I live in Australia, so I see most of the Christmas comics on Boxing Day here. But I knew that I wouldn’t want to miss the Peanuts one, Charles Schulz had so many fantastic for the holiday season (this being one of them)…Merry Christmas fellow Peanuts fans!
