My recently deceased loving wife and I had 2 Chihuahua’s and a Catahoula Leopard dog and 3 cats. The Chihuahua’s were very fond of a style of blanket we always called Chihuahua blankets because wherever there were those blankets there were the Chihuahua’s. All of the animals liked them but the joke was it was all about the Chihuahua’s. Sadly all of the dogs died within the last 2 years, 2 before my loving wife and 1 after her. Anyway my point was going to be that wherever the blanket is the dog is. Sorry I took so long to say that.
They should get two more dogs, as they are not always willing to be on a lap. My dog is not a lap sitter, but is almost always within my sight and also within reach. But when I put her on my lap, she doesn’t stay long. My first two beagles became book stands as they both slept on my small lap at the same time until my legs started to ache after a few years.
We have two rescue Border Collies. The first one is a real little doll, but he has been my husband’s dog BIG TIME from the start. Still, when it’s time to play ball, he goes back and forth between us, offering us the ball in turns. He’s just a sweetheart!
Interesting dog food commercial emphasizing different food needs at different stages of a dog’s life: “You’re treating your puppy like a dog”. Anyway, I thought it was catchy.

Get a cat, too, so you can both have a warm lap. If, of course, the cat deigns to grace your lap.

With two humans in the house with 5 cats and 3 dogs we are never at a loss for furry companionship. As long as the food dishes are full.

I’d make a slightly sarcastic remark, but all the dog-lovers would be all over me, so I won’t.

I’m not so keen on my wife’s little dog jumping into my lap but I do appreciate it when she is taking a nap in my chair and keeps it warm for me!
